Looks like I ruined a fairly new shirt today. I was at work and decided to be a good samaritan and help someone out and in the process I got bearing grease all over my shirt. I doubt I will ever be able to get the stain out of the shirt so its probably best to not even try. So, what I normally do when something like this happens is I will use the ruined clothing as something to wear when doing yard work. I’m not big on wasting anything so I won’t be throwing it away. I’ll find some way to get a year’s worth of use out of it.

Planning a Getaway

I’m planning on taking a trip down to the Southern Caribbean later on this year. Hopefully I’ll be heading down to Venezuela for a little bit of snorkeling and relaxation. I’d be going in late August or early September which is right in the middle of hurricane season. But, contrary to what you may believe hurricanes don’t actually pose a threat since Venezuela is below the hurricane belt. However, that doesn’t mean it will be perfect as it can get pretty hot, obviously. Hopefully, that won’t hinder my ability to pull back the hot tub covers for some night time relaxation. I am not completely familiar with how these things work but hopefully I can run the hot tub without the heat actually running so its more like a cool tub. I think the night time temperature will be in the lower 80’s but with a breeze so we’ll see how that feels.

Gone Fishing

Literally I am going to go fishing. I haven’t gone in nearly a decade but I have nothing to do today and one of my friends called me up so I figured I would give it a shot. If nothing else it will give me an excuse to drink beer and goof off. My girlfriend always tells me that I need to get out of the house and hang out with people more, so I figure this will a good opportunity to take her up on that advice.

Expression is a Big Part of Comfort

Just a decade ago when you went to the hospital everyone was dressed in the same drab clothing. Now when you go there its like a fashion show. Who would have thought the designer scrubs business would take off the way it has recently. Its now actually a huge industry, one where businesses such as M.com are at the forefront. Just one look at nursing scrubs from Marcus and you’ll understand trendy scrubs have become. One thing I have learned over the years is in order to really perform at what you do, you should be comfortable and part of comfort is personal expression. So, if wearing multicolored scrubs peppered with images of kittens helps a nurse perform her job better, I’m all for it.

Prioritizing Relationships

With Father’s Day slowly creeping up on us, I guess its time to start looking for presents. I guess even more importantly its time to make travel arrangements. As my parents get older I realize its even more important to make sure to spend quality time with them whenever I get the chance. Sometimes its hard being that I live in a different state. However, I think its important for us all to realize that with our limited time on this earth we really need to prioritize our relationships.
