Apple MobileMe
In a move aimed directly at Microsofts exchange suite of products Apple has announced MobileMe; their own series of exchange products. Mobile me is a consumer focused exchange service that offers the ability to sync calendar, contacts, files, folders and emails to a variety of devices. MobileMe works with the Mac’s Mail.app, Address Book and iCal, as for those on PCs it also works with Microsoft’s Outlook.
MobileMe is priced competitively with other hosted Exchange services: MobileMe is $99/year for 20 GB of storage, or $149 per year for a five-person family account. The average hosted Exchange service costs anywhere from $120 to $180 per year for 2 or 3 GB of storage.
