WhatsApp is one of the leaders in instant messaging applications. Since the summer of 2018, Whatsapp – now owned by Facebook – has decided to launch a version of its application: Whatsapp web. This application allows you to stay close to friends and family thanks to its online messaging with an easy-to-use interface. Good news, Whatsapp web is free and can be used anywhere in the world.
Whatsapp web allows you to use all the features of your Whatsapp application. You can make calls to friends and family even when they’re halfway around the world. But that’s not all, you can send them text messages to one or more contacts at the same time thanks to Whatsapp web. Indeed, you can create a group with several people to organize an outing, prepare a surprise, or simply give you news when you want.
Using WhatsApp on your computer (WhatsApp Web) has been possible for a few years. If you don’t know how to do it and are tired of juggling between your PC screen and your smartphone, then follow the different steps described.
How to use WhatsApp on Windows
Download and install WhatsApp for Windows by clicking on the link on the WhatsApp web page. When launching the application for the first time, the latter will offer to scan a QR Code. Open WhatsApp on your Android or iPhone smartphone and scan the QR code (go to Settings> WhatsApp Web / Desktop> Scan a QR Code)
And There you go! You can now directly write messages and send attachments from your Windows desktop!
WhatsApp: how to use it on Mac
This is also extremely simple:
Download and install WhatsApp for Mac by clicking on the same link. When launching the application for the first time, the latter will offer to scan a QR Code. Open WhatsApp on your Android or iPhone smartphone and scan the QR code (go to Settings> WhatsApp Web / Desktop> Scan a QR Code). Congratulations, you are ready to use WhatsApp from your macOS desktop.
WhatsApp: how to use it on a Linux or with any other operating system directly from the browser
You can use WhatsApp web without installing any app on your system, for this you have to go to the browser page to open WhatsApp web
Open WhatsApp on your phone and scan the QR Code : (go to Settings> WhatsApp Web / Desktop> Scan a QR Code). You can now use WhatsApp from any machine!
Please note: whether in Windows or macOS, the application for your computer will not work if your smartphone is switched off or disconnected from the network or WiFi). The same thing for the web version of the app.
How about using it on a tablet?
The WhatsApp app is linked to your phone number and therefore to your SIM card as well. However, the latter is already in your smartphone and most tablets do not have a SIM card slot.
